Abstract

This guide presents 196 species of trees in Hong Kong’s countryside. Species described are common native trees of Hong Kong, besides a few species for afforestation. Each tree species is illustrated with some 1000 colour photographs taken in the field showing various parts including flowers, fruits, leaves, twigs, bark, etc., supplemented by concise descriptions with identification notes in Chinese as well as a photo key for assisting the differentiation of groups of tree species in the field.
